anthropologie.

maybe i'm a bit behind with things, but i just realised this minute that anthropologie now ships to south africa. yay! good to know. but dangerous... because i've already done an imaginary dress shop and here's whats in my cart...

the whimsical and romantic time gone by dress and the (sadly so expensive!) andalusian horse dress, with white ponies galloping all over it. must. have. need.

80's does 40's.

probably my favourite decade for dresses are the forties. and for shoes. and for fashion in general really. and for history. yes. let's conclude that its my favourite decade for stuff as a whole.

that said, this dress is not from the 40's, but its a really awesome 80's take on it, methinks. i love the strong shoulder, and the pleats and buttons on the bodice.

one day, i'll copy this pattern, and make many clones of it. yes i shall.

new favourite.

i recently came across this pretty blog, the stylish heart. its definitely quickly becoming one of my Special Ones. (the Special Ones are the ones i have to look at first thing in the morning with a cup of coffee before i can start any work. all the others get slotted into the small-in-between-everything-else moments of the day.)

orla kiely, i love you.

remember when i said i wasn't too crazy about a lot of orla kiely's spring/summer 2010 collection? all forgotten, because her fall 2010 collection just...i mean...no words.
orla kiely, please come be my wardrobe!
